Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a compassionate Patient Navigator to support patients referred with suspected cancer or newly diagnosed. You will guide them through diagnostic and treatment pathways, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and connected at every stage.

You will streamline the patient journey by managing appointments, coordinating access to diagnostics and clinics, signposting to advice and support, and handling pathway administration within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Strong administrative and clerical skills.
• Excellent communications abilities with patients and families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support patients with appointment management and navigation through pathways.
• Ensure timely access to diagnostics, MDT discussions, clinics and surgery.
• Signpost patients to clinical advice and support services.
• Provide clear information on their pathway and next steps.
• Manage administrative aspects of allocated cancer pathways.
