Job summary

Co-op Digital in South Shields is hiring a Mobile Funeral Arranger on a part-time basis (20 hours per week, Mon-Fri 10:00–14:00). Training is provided, with occasional full-time adjustments needed. You will handle client support, arrange visits, and ensure a professional, caring environment.

Role requires empathy, good communication, and basic numeracy; physical duties such as moving coffins may be involved with proper training and safety guidance.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills with clients and colleagues, both written and verbal.
• Confident numeracy for cash handling, discounts and invoicing.
• Attention to regulatory policies and accuracy in records.
• Strong IT skills to use varied devices and systems.
• Empathy and discretion in handling sensitive duties.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required in the role.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone; arrange family visits.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming, reporting issues.
• Work with digital systems to manage client documentation and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work to Funeral Plan Arrangers as needed.
• Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased and basic handling.
• Update client management applications with accurate information.
