Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a caring, flexible driver to transport clients with additional support needs. You will drive minibuses and other vehicles, help passengers board safely, and use safety equipment as required. Training will cover MIDAS, First Aid and handling challenging behaviour.

Role requires good communication with schools, carers and colleagues; D1 entitlement on licence is essential. Term-time alternatives and pro rata salary apply, with a comprehensive staff benefits

Qualifications

• D1 entitlement on driving licence is essential.
• Experience driving minibuses is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong communication with staff, parents, carers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Drive accessible and non-accessible minibuses and other vehicles.
• Ensure safe boarding, travel and alighting of passengers; use safety equipment correctly.
• Maintain communication with school staff, centre staff and carers; assist with minor vehicle repairs when needed.
