Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a caring and flexible driver to join our Integrated Passenger Transport Operations team. You will drive minibuses to transport clients, ensuring safety and comfort, with training provided for safety equipment and minor vehicle tasks.

Experience with minibus driving is an advantage but not essential. A D1 entitlement on your licence is required, with training to be completed within 3 months of start date. This is a term-time plus other arrangements.

Qualifications

• D1 or D1 (101) entitlement on driving licence is essential. If not held, training to obtain within 3 months.
• Experience in minibus driving or similar role is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong caring and reliable approach with good collaboration with staff and carers.

Responsibilities

• Drive accessible and non-accessible minibuses and other vehicles, with minor repairs as needed
• Ensure passenger safety boarding, travelling, and alighting; safety equipment used correctly (training provided)
• Communicate with school staff, parents, carers and colleagues
