North Yorkshire Council is seeking a caring, flexible driver to transport clients safely across North Yorkshire. You will join an Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team that runs over 120 vehicles and supports around 340 drivers and passenger assistants.

Are you a caring, reliable driver looking to make a difference? If you love working with people and naturally look out for others, you’re exactly who we’re looking for - we need you to join our growing team.
Across North Yorkshire, our Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team keeps our community moving. Our extensive network of more than 120 vehicles, mainly minibuses, and approximately 340 drivers and passenger assistants work tirelessly to deliver safe, reliable transport where it’s needed most. From providing essential school and social care transport services to providing local bus connections, we help people access learning, employment, and social centres, we ensure nobody gets left behind.
We bridge the gap to critical community hubs, enabling independent access to education, supported employment, and day centres, and other meaningful activities in our community. The team delivers approximately 800,000 passenger journeys per year including 20,000 wheelchair user journeys.
While minibus experience or a background in a similar role is an advantage, it is not essential. We are looking for a caring, flexible, and committed person to help transport clients who require additional support to and from a range of different venues.
You will be helping to make sure all our passengers enjoy a safe and comfortable journey:
D1 or D1 (101) entitlement on your driving licence is an essential requirement for this role.
We offer a comprehensive training package including Minibus Driver Awareness Training Scheme (MIDAS), Basic First Aid and Managing Challenging Behaviour.
Please note that the salary advertised is the full time equivalent rate.
For term-time only employees, the annual salary is calculated pro rata and paid evenly over 12 months.
In addition to your salary, we offer a range of great benefits to help you financially and make life a bit easier:
