Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a caring, flexible driver to transport clients safely across North Yorkshire. You will join an Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team that runs over 120 vehicles and supports around 340 drivers and passenger assistants.

Role includes driving minibuses, ensuring passenger safety and using safety equipment; MIDAS and First Aid training are provided. Term-time and full-time nuances apply with pro rata salary processing.

Qualifications

• D1 entitlement on driving licence is essential.
• Experience driving minibuses is an advantage but not essential.
• Excellent communication with school/centre staff, parents, carers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Drive accessible and non-accessible minibuses and other vehicles, performing minor repairs when needed.
• Ensure all passengers board, travel and alight safely and that safety equipment is used correctly.
• Communicate with school staff, parents, carers and colleagues to support passengers.
