Job summary

Nellsar’s St Winifreds Care Home in Deal is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join a supportive team. The role involves preparing meals, assisting in kitchen duties, and serving meals with a focus on nutrition and resident wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will be able to work 32.5 hours per week, including some weekends, with an hourly rate of £13.00. Training is provided and there are opportunities for progression, DBS support, and a comprehensive induction.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or care home food service preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines.
• Compassionate, person-centred approach to residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food as directed by Head Chef.
• Assist with kitchen duties and cleaning schedules.
• Assist in preparation and serving of meals in a timely manner.
• Communicate with care staff and residents in a polite, person-centred way.
• Understand and follow health and safety requirements.
