Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is hiring a Kitchen Assistant on a Bank basis at Acacia Mews Care Home in Hatfield. You will support the catering function, help prepare meals, and maintain a clean kitchen to ensure safe production of beverages and meals for residents.

Ideally you hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and have awareness of Health and Safety, with the ability to work as part of a team. DBS disclosure will be required and Avery will cover the cost. Eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Health and Safety principles (Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, COSHH).
• Able to work efficiently with a high level of physical effort and handle a demanding workload.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Follow safe food handling practices to ensure high hygiene standards in all meals and beverages.
• Contribute to team working, respond to colleagues, and action reasonable instructions promptly.
• Assist with sourcing and ordering of supplies as needed and respect residents and visitors.
