Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant on a bank/relief basis for Acacia Mews Care Home in Hatfield. You will support food preparation, maintain kitchen hygiene, and help deliver high-quality meals to residents in a compassionate setting.

Applicants should hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and be familiar with health and safety practices. DBS disclosure is required and costs are covered by Avery Healthcare. This role offers flexible hours to fit a bank arrangement.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Health and Safety.
• Familiar with Moving and Handling techniques.
• Aware of Fire Safety requirements.
• Familiar with COSHH assessments.

Responsibilities

• Understand safe food handling to maintain high hygiene standards.

• Advise on supply and quality of items and arrange replacements.
