Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant - Bank at Acacia Mews Care Home in Hatfield. You will support the catering function, assist with food preparation, and maintain high hygiene standards to ensure quality meals for residents.

We value warmth, reliability and teamwork. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and flexibility to work shifts are required; a DBS check will be completed by Avery.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Efficient, able to handle a demanding workload and maintain high performance.
• Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and teamwork.
• Caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for safe production of beverages and meals.
• Ensure highest standards of hygiene in all kitchen activities.
• Contribute to team working and respond to reasonable instructions promptly.
• Advise on supply and quality of items, ordering replacements as needed.
• Respect residents and their visitors, preserving dignity and individuality.
