Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant for Elton House Care Home in Watford. You’ll support the catering function, assist with meal preparation, and maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen to ensure high-quality meals for residents.

Our ideal candidate will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, understand Health & Safety, and show a caring, flexible team approach. DBS disclosure and eligibility to work in the UK are required; local training and development are

Qualifications

• Holder Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Able to work efficiently with a high level of physical effort and handle a demanding workload.
• Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in teamwork.
• Caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for safe production of meals and beverages.
• Adhere to hygiene standards and ensure kitchens meet high safety requirements.
• Assist with ordering and supply of items needed to carry out tasks.
• Respect residents and visitors, upholding dignity and individuality.
