Job summary

Healthcare Ireland Group in Magherafelt is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support in a modern residential care and nursing home. The role focuses on safe food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment for residents.

You will work as part of the kitchen team, reporting to the Chef, ensuring dietary needs are met and contributing to a positive working environment within the home.

Qualifications

• Required Criteria: The Right to Work in the UK.
• Required Criteria: A good standard of both verbal and written English.
• Required Criteria: Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience.
• Required Criteria: Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensures catering stock and equipment are stored and accounted for per Assured Safe Catering standards.
• Delivers meals and catering supplies within the unit promptly.
• Under direction, assists with basic food preparation.
• Keeps kitchen, catering and servery areas clean and compliant with standards.
• Maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Performs other duties as designated by the Chef or Cook.
