Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Derby is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join Middleton Lodge Care Home. You will work as part of a team to maintain cleanliness and laundry standards, delivering hotel-style service to residents.

The role requires Health and Safety awareness, experience of cleaning in a public setting, and compassion. DBS check will be funded, and eligibility to work in the UK must be demonstrated.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• The ability to be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring areas are well presented.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are respected.
