Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant for Middleton Lodge Care Home in Derby. You will work as part of a team to maintain cleanliness and laundry standards across the home, following standard operating procedures and ensuring hotel service standards are met.

You will clean according to worksheets, understand surface cleaning needs and materials, and ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect while their personal space is protected.

Qualifications

• Health and Safety knowledge including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality housekeeping/laundry services to residents.
• Ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas and ensure that they are well presented and in good condition.
• Understand cleaning requirements of different surfaces and cleaning materials used.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and their personal space and belongings are protected.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained. Other responsibilities will include: Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions. Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition. Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.

techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments. Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
