Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant for Middleton Lodge Care Home in Derby. You will contribute to maintaining high cleanliness and laundry standards as part of a caring, resident-focused team. The role requires DBS clearance and eligibility to work in the UK.

You will work within our SOPs for housekeeping and laundry, supporting a hotel-style service standard and respecting residents’ dignity while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality housekeeping/laundry service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties according to worksheet instructions.
• Understand surfaces and cleaning materials to keep areas well presented.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and personal space is maintained.

About The Role

Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
