Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant at South Lodge Care Home in Leicester. You will join a caring team to maintain cleanliness and laundry to hotel service standards, supporting residents with dignity and respect.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of health and safety, experience cleaning laundry in public settings, and be flexible to cover a range of duties at short notice. DBS disclosure and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
