Job summary

Nuffield Health is seeking a friendly Receptionist for our hospital in York. You will be the first point of contact, welcoming patients, handling enquiries and directing them to the correct areas with empathy and clear communication.

With strong IT and keyboard skills, you'll book appointments, manage referrals and paperwork, and work with colleagues to keep the department running smoothly. This ad-hoc bank role offers flexible hours to fit availability.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare administration or reception preferred.
• Excellent communication, IT and keyboard skills.
• Ability to explain sensitive information clearly and empathetically.

Responsibilities

• Answer the phone, deal with enquiries and book appointments.
• Welcome patients, directing them to changing or waiting rooms.
• Prepare clinical paperwork, referral forms, charge sheets, and terms and conditions.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the department runs smoothly.
