Walkers Funeral Directors in Carlisle is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist (Level One) to be the first point of contact for families, guiding them with empathy and professionalism through funeral arrangements. Based at the Carlisle branch, you will help run daily operations and support ceremonial duties as required.

The role requires compassionate interaction, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to navigate clerical tasks and inform customers about funeral plans.

Qualifications

• Empathy and ability to support grieving families.
• Experience in customer service, care, or admin.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; competent with IT systems.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support families with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Arrange funerals meeting family wishes and legal requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations.
• Liaise with ministers, celebrants, and florists.
• Lead chapel visits as required.
• Promote funeral plans and sales within the branch.
• Represent the branch in the local community.
• Train in Funeral Conducting for ceremonial duties.
• Uphold standards of dignity, care, and service.
