Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is hiring a Funeral Service Crew member in Deeside to support families in saying goodbye with professionalism and empathy. The role is part-time (15 hours per week) with days/nights and weekends on call, plus on-call rota.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training and ongoing support are provided. The job includes driving, coffin bearing, preparing the deceased, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and handling records, with a competitive hourly rate of

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks with appropriate training and equipment.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new applications and systems.
• Ability to remain calm and empathic in emotional circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with regulatory policies.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from a range of locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased in our care for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications daily with timely, accurate records.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins following safe techniques and health and safety guidance.
