Job summary

East of England Co-op Funeral Services in Stowmarket is seeking a compassionate Funeral Operative to support families, coordinate services and help care for the deceased.

You will bring the deceased into our care from various locations, prepare for viewings and services, oversee chapel visits, and assist with the upkeep of ceremonial vehicles and facilities. A full UK driving licence is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Drive and/or bear on funeral services, supporting clients and families.
• Bring the deceased into care from various locations and circumstances.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral service.
• Oversee chapel visits and maintain cleanliness of facilities and ceremonial vehicles.
• Assist with coffins, flowers, and order of service as required.
• Potential participation in an on-call rota outside ordinary hours.
