Job summary

Maria Mallaband Care Group is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join the care team, maintaining a clean and safe environment for service users and staff. You will work under supervision with a focus on hygiene, safety, and supporting a high standard of care within the home.

The role includes responsibilities such as daily cleaning of rooms and communal areas, weekly deep cleans, chemical handling per COSHH, and assisting with restocking supplies. Experience in care is valued.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
• Ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Genuine interest in working in a social care environment.
• Demonstrate care and compassion; be a team player; able to work in a physically and mentally demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the Company Mission Statement at all times.
• Ensure the Home’s furniture, furnishings and fittings are clean.
• Ensure all surfaces of floors, walls and ceilings are clean.
• Clean carpets when necessary.
• Empty wastebaskets and bins daily and dispose of waste safely per requirements.
• Clean internal windows monthly.
• Clean bedrooms weekly on a rota; keep communal areas clean daily.
• Ensure sinks, en-suites, bathrooms and toilets are cleaned daily.
• Store chemicals in line with COSHH requirements.
• Restock paper products and dispensers.
