Job summary

Elizabeth Finn Homes Limited is seeking a compassionate Housekeeping Assistant at Eversfield Care Home in Reigate. You will support daily cleaning to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents, working alongside catering and care teams to provide prompt service.

The role requires good general education and empathy for older people. Training, development opportunities, and staff benefits are provided; shifts include 28.5 hours per week (Thu-Sun, 8:00-16:00).

Qualifications

• Good general education is preferred.
• Basic Food Awareness Certificate or NVQ level 2 is desirable (or willingness to work towards it).
• Empathy with older people is important.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high‑quality cleaning across all areas, including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, offices, corridors, windows, and fixtures.
• Follow agreed cleaning procedures and hygiene standards to prevent cross‑infection and maintain a safe environment.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
• Take responsibility for Health & Safety and COSHH compliance, reporting hazards, accidents, or concerns without delay.
• Work effectively to schedules and time limits, supporting colleagues, attending training/meetings, and reporting any resident concerns to care or nursing staff.
