Job summary

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow is looking for a Bank Healthcare Assistant to support our specialist palliative care team. You will provide intimate personal care, help patients maintain comfort and dignity, and work closely with nurses to ensure high-quality care during admissions, discharges and end-of-life care.

We value empathy, strong communication, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in health or social care setting.
• Demonstrates empathy, compassion and person-centred care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to undertake relevant qualifications where required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting and meals.
• Support patients to maintain independence, dignity and quality of life.
• Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff.
• Offer emotional support to patients, families and carers.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and end-of-life care.
• Maintain accurate care records and ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
