Job summary

Balhousie Care Group is seeking an Assistant Chef for a care home in Scotland. You will join a small kitchen team, work with the Head Chef, and deputise in their absence to deliver tasty, well-balanced meals for residents.

You’ll help maintain the kitchen to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations, respond to residents’ needs, and support a rewarding, person-centred service.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience is desirable; not essential.
• SVQ/NVQ level 2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
• PVG check required and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, well-balanced meals for residents.
• Work closely with Head Chef and deputise in their absence.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations.
• Respond to residents’ needs and contribute to a positive resident experience.

Skills

Kitchen experience (desirable)

Education
