Job summary

BCG Cares in Perth, Scotland, is seeking an Assistant Chef to join a small kitchen team in our care home. You will work with the Head Chef, help deliver delicious, balanced meals, and deputise when needed to ensure smooth service and resident satisfaction.

Some kitchen experience is helpful but not required; SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Catering or Professional Cookery, a basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and HACCP knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Person-centred hospitality mindset in a care setting.
• Some kitchen experience is desirable, not essential.
• Knowledge of HACCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef and deputise in their absence.
• Prepare and serve balanced, nutritious meals for residents.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Respond to residents' needs and contribute to their positive experience.
