Job summary

EMED Group is seeking compassionate Ambulance Care Assistants for bank positions in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. You will transport patients to appointments, assist with transfers, and support clinical staff. Training is provided; a valid UK manual driving licence and DBS check are required.

Experience in care is advantageous, but not essential. You will work flexible shifts between 05:00 and 00:00, Monday to Sunday, with a focus on patient welfare and safe transport practices.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and empathy required.
• Experience in a care background advantageous but not essential.
• Must be physically fit for patient handling and lifting.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts.
• Pass Enhanced DBS check (company funded).

Responsibilities

• Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between facilities.
• Assist with lifting, securing and transferring patients in/out of ambulances.
• Handover patients to staff or family when arriving at treatment centres or homes.
• Maintain ambulance cleanliness and safety.
• Provide compassionate care to end-of-life patients where applicable.
