Job summary

EMED Group in Gloucester is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant to support patients of all ages on journeys to and from medical facilities. This role is full-time, four days a week with 10-hour shifts across early and late hours, and requires a full UK manual driving licence and good fitness for patient handling.

No prior ambulance experience is required as full training is provided; you will work closely with teams to transport patients, assist with handovers, and ensure a safe, compassionate

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Ability to pass Enhanced DBS check.
• Experience in care is advantageous.
• Able to work flexible shifts Mon-Sun 05:30–01:00.

Responsibilities

• Drive patients to appointments and between healthcare facilities, with or without a colleague.
• Assist with transferring patients from beds to stretchers and into/out of the ambulance.
• Help with handovers to hospital staff or to family members at home.
• Keep ambulance clean, safe and well-organised for every shift.
• Support compassionate communication with patients and their relatives.
