Job summary

Macklin Care Homes is seeking an Activities Therapist for Milesian Manor Lifestyle Care Home, Milesian Manor Road. The role involves designing and running engaging activities for residents, coordinating with nursing staff, and ensuring person-centred activity planning.

You will document activities, tailor programmes to residents with dementia, and maintain safe, inclusive environments. A full UK driving licence is required to support resident transport as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with elderly residents (dementia) preferred.
• Must have good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a schedule of in-house entertainment and activities.
• Work with Nurse Managers to align activities with resident needs.
• Obtain approval before engaging external entertainers.
• Gather feedback from residents and tailor activities accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of activities and events.
• Provide individual engagement for residents preferring non-group activities.
• Collaborate with a diverse resident group respectfully.
• Ensure safety and inclusivity at all times.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
• Hold a full UK Driving Licence to assist with transport.
