Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a caring and reliable individual to provide socialisation support for a lady in Llanelli. The role involves companionship, helping with outings, and promoting independence within a home environment.

Responsibilities include supporting social activities, aiding with shopping and appointments, and ensuring safety during hours. A DBS check is required and a valid driving licence with vehicle use may be needed depending on employer

Qualifications

• Responsible, reliable and honest.
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Has good local knowledge of the area where the employer lives.
• Good time-keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties as determined by the employer’s requirements.
• Ability to keep simple records such as time recording.
• Good communicator able to talk to people on behalf of the employer when required.
• Able to develop long-term supportive and consistent relationships with employers.

Responsibilities

• Support the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
• Enable the employer to interact socially in their community.
• Provide support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest.
• Support the employer to develop independent living skills.
• Provide companionship in the employer’s home and social interaction.
• Encourage the employer to attend appointments.
• Ensure the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as requested during working hours.
• Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act.
• Be mindful of safeguarding issues and report concerns to the relevant authority.
• Be prepared to contact GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if medical assistance is needed.
