Job summary

Community Integrated Care in Fareham is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist four adults living in a shared home. You will help with daily living tasks, personal care, and community activities, fostering independence and choice in a warm, welcoming environment.

No prior care experience is required as full training is provided; a UK manual driving licence and willingness to drive a minibus are preferred.

Who you'll be supporting & more about the role: You'll be supporting four friendly adults aged between 55 and 80 who live together in a welcoming home in a quiet area of Fareham. Everyone we support has their own unique personality, interests, and support needs. Some people are able to walk around the home independently and enjoy household tasks such as laundry and cleaning, while others require more physical support. The people we support are a mixture of verbal and non-verbal communicators and live with a range of conditions including learning disabilities, autism, dementia, visual impairments, and hearing impairments. The people we support enjoy getting out and about and making the most of what the local area has to offer. Some enjoy shopping trips to Gunwharf Quays, while others prefer a scenic drive in the minibus with a packed lunch. Music, spending time in the garden, visiting local parks and beaches, and taking part in meaningful activities are all things that bring enjoyment to daily life. The house has a large garden with plenty of space for outdoor activities and BBQs, and there is a strong focus on creating a warm, happy, and engaging environment. As a Support Worker, you will support people with all aspects of daily living, which may include personal care, moving and positioning, medication administration, community access, meal preparation, and helping people to participate in activities that are important to them. Most importantly, you'll support people to maintain their independence, make choices, and enjoy new experiences. The service is staffed by three colleagues during the day and one sleep-in colleague overnight. Flexible shift patterns are available, including short shifts, long days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
