Job summary

The Stroke Early Supported Discharge team provides specialist stroke rehabilitation to survivors in their own homes, working with occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants. This permanent part-time post is a speech and language therapy role for someone experienced in stroke rehabilitation, covering communication and swallowing disorders in the community.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use; visa sponsorship is not

Qualifications

• Recognised degree-level speech and language therapy qualification.
• Post-graduate training in dysphagia.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist SLT assessment, diagnosis and treatment to stroke patients in the community.
• Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team for holistic management of caseload.
• Support service development, evaluation and quality initiatives.
• Assist in meeting national and local standards for stroke rehabilitation.
• Provide clinical guidance to the wider MDT and students.
