Job summary

Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join the Stroke Early Supported Discharge service in South East Essex. You will deliver therapy for patients post-hospital discharge, work autonomously within a supportive SLT team, and drive evidence-based practice.

The role involves clinical duties, audits and supervision, with a focus on facilitating safe and effective home and community reintegration for stroke survivors.

Qualifications

• Qualified speech and language therapist with registration and HCPC standards.
• Experience with stroke, dysphagia and communication disorders.
• Ability to work autonomously within SLT teams and audits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver SLT services for post-stroke patients within ESD pathways.
• Provide assessment, treatment planning and therapy for communication and swallowing disorders.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in audits and service development.
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to training and handover processes.
