Job summary

Avon Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Community Safety Administrator to support the Vulnerable Adults Team. The role includes handling public queries about Home Fire Safety Visits, coordinating bookings and ensuring accurate record-keeping across departmental systems.

You will liaise with external agencies, provide administrative support to keep the team running smoothly, and contribute to process improvements to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional first point of contact for members of the public and external agencies with home Fire Safety Visit (HFSV) requests or queries.
• Process and monitor and respond to incoming enquiries, relaying messages to team members and referring complex queries to a manager.
• Ensure information is recorded accurately and kept up to date on departmental data storage systems.
• Coordinate, schedule and book HFSVs for Community Safety Workers and Station Staff, liaising with external agencies as needed.
• Receive and register incoming mail and ensure despatch of outgoing mail.
• Provide feedback to external agencies on HFSV status in a professional manner.
• Provide administrative support to enable the wider team to operate efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Assist Community Data Safety Administrator with data checking or cleansing as needed.
• Suggest and help implement improvements to administrative procedures to increase efficiency.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as agreed with line manager.
