Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled physiotherapist to provide community rehabilitation, crisis response and intermediate care across Torbay. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering clinical care and taking autonomous responsibility for episodes of care.

The role requires broad NHS experience, registration with HCPC, and commitment to CPD, with opportunities to mentor students and support junior staff while coordinating risk and complex

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in physiotherapy State registration – current HCPC certificate
• Experience within the NHS including experience as a junior in a broad rotational post covering a range of experience in orthopaedics, elderly care, medical, surgical, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions
• Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at recent Postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical field
• Post graduate training/experience in rehabilitation and elderly care
• Knowledge of the safeguarding adults process

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality care to the housebound patients of Torbay and work as part of multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with primary care and secondary care
• Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, including professional and legal accountability and managing clinical risk for all aspects of own work
• Undertake advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse or complex physical, psychological, cognitive and behavioural conditions in order to provide an accurate diagnosis and prognosis
• Formulate and deliver individualised physiotherapy treatment programmes, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic handling, patient education, electrotherapy, provision of exercise (individual/group), and other alternative options
