Job summary

Allied Pharmacy in Rhiwbina, Cardiff is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support day-to-day running of a busy community pharmacy. You will assist with dispensing under supervision, welcome customers, and provide guidance on OTC medicines while developing knowledge in a supportive team.

This role offers training, a patient-focused environment, and a chance to contribute to safe, efficient service for the local community. Note: trials will be held at our Caerphilly branch.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping people.
• A recognised dispensing or pharmacy assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Previous experience in a community pharmacy is desirable, though full training can be provided.
• Reliable, organised and detail-focused approach to your work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the accurate dispensing of prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
• Provide a warm, professional welcome to patients and customers at the counter
• Offer advice on over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products within your scope of training
• Manage stock, including ordering, receiving deliveries, rotating items and checking expiry dates
• Maintain accurate records and ensure the pharmacy remains clean, tidy and compliant
• Support wider pharmacy services and work collaboratively with the rest of the team
