Allied Pharmacy in Whitby is seeking a friendly Pharmacy Assistant to join our team and support pharmacists and dispensing staff while delivering a warm, professional service to customers.

The role includes handling prescriptions, stocking shelves, and assisting with dispensed medicines. Weekend work is required, no prior experience is essential though helpful, and NVQ Level 2 qualification would be an advantage.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable demeanor and commitment to customer service.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a small team.
• Good attention to detail and methodical in tasks.
• Reliability, trustworthiness and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail environment is welcome but not essential.
• Relevant pharmacy qualification (such as NVQ Level 2) would be an advantage, or willingness to work towards one.

Responsabilités

• Greet customers and assist with queries at the counter in a courteous, helpful manner.
• Receive and process prescriptions, following relevant procedures.
• Support the dispensing team with the accurate assembly of medicines.
• Sell over-the-counter medicines responsibly, offering advice and referring to the pharmacist when needed.
• Help maintain stock levels, including ordering, receiving deliveries and rotating stock.
• Keep the pharmacy clean, tidy and well-presented at all times.
• Handle confidential patient information with discretion and care.
