Job summary

NHSGGC is recruiting a Health Care Support Worker to support the Specialist Community Paediatric Team in West Dunbartonshire. The role involves home visits, clinics, and school community settings, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to children and families.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to integrated health and social care, maintain records, and support health promotion activities while adhering to service guidelines. PVG check may be required.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with children, young people and families.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computing and IT skills.
• Current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Community Children’s Nursing Service to deliver a safe, person-centred community paediatric nursing service.
• Support clinics within the Acorn Paediatric Community and Acute Service, including immunisation clinics.
• Undertake home visits and delegated clinical tasks such as venepuncture.
• Promote health and wellbeing and report patient information accurately to the nursing team.
• Signpost families to appropriate services in line with care plans.
