Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a fixed-term community midwife post lasting ten months. The role involves managing a caseload, educating and safeguarding, and supporting families through antenatal and postnatal care, including homebirth as part of a pro-rata on-call service.

Post is offered on a part-time, flexible or compressed hours basis, with registration as a midwife with the NMC required.

Qualifications

Evidence of continuing professional development.
Registered midwife (NMC).

Responsibilities

Providing evidence-based antenatal and postnatal care in the community, following local and national guidance.
Managing a caseload of birthing people and their families, taking responsibility for all aspects of their care.
Referring appropriately and working towards continuity of care as set out in Better Births (2016).
Supporting women who choose to birth at home.
Providing education and support for pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period, face to face or by signposting to online and external support.
Working within a multidisciplinary team with good knowledge of safeguarding.
Team working, including a pro-rata on-call commitment to the homebirth service.
