Job summary

London Borough of Hounslow is looking for a Community Library Assistant to join the Localities and Community Hubs team on a 27-hour fixed-term contract for 12 months. The role is based primarily at the Chiswick Hub with possible support across 11 community libraries in the borough.

You will deliver customer service, support residents with digital services and run activities for all ages. The role requires excellent communication, IT skills and a friendly, organised approach.

Qualifications

• English & Maths GCSE A–C (or equivalent) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Enhanced DBS is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and assist residents with library, digital and council services.
• Support residents to access online services and develop digital skills.
• Create and promote engaging activities and events for children and families.
• Assist with days-to-day library operations, bookings and events across 11 hubs.
