Wiltshire Council is seeking a part-time Community Library Assistant to support Wilton and Salisbury Libraries. The role combines counter duties, IT tasks and admin to help run a friendly service for the community.
You will work a pattern across Wilton and Salisbury with training provided; you'll join a team of volunteers and report to the Library Manager. GCSEs including English and Maths are required.
Salary:£26,016 - £26,847 pro rata

If so, we invite you to consider a rewarding opportunity to join our team at Wilton and Salisbury Libraries. As a Community Library Assistant, your friendly and positive approach will play a key role in providing an excellent experience for our customers and volunteers.
Your responsibilities will include working independently to carry out computerised counter routines and completing administrative tasks that support the daily running of the library. A vital part of the role is assisting the Library Manager by working alongside and supporting our dedicated team of volunteers to deliver a community-focused library service in Wilton Library.
To be considered for this role, you should have at least 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at grades A-C (or equivalent).
While customer service experience is essential, previous library experience is not required, as we provide comprehensive training in all aspects of library operations.
This post is based at Wilton Library; however, as part of your regular working pattern, you will also be required to work at Salisbury Library.
Work pattern and location for this role is:
Week 1: Tues 4-7 at Wilton, Wednesday 10-2 at Salisbury, Thursday 9:30-1:30 at Wilton
Week 2: Tuesday 4-7 at Wilton, Thursday 9:30-1:30 at Wilton, Friday 1:30-5 at Wilton, Saturday 9:30-1 at Wilton
