Job summary

Wirral Change is seeking a proactive Hub Coordinator to oversee kitchen, hub operations, and donations, while supporting the Community Café and Shop. You will manage volunteers, ensure health and safety compliance, and collaborate with partners to optimise resources.

The role includes undertaking a Level 3 Improvement Technician Apprenticeship with dedicated study time and mentorship to drive continuous improvement across hub services.

Qualifications

• Willingness to commit to Level 3 Apprenticeship alongside duties.
• Experience in kitchen coordination or food handling.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and allergen awareness.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication with diverse groups.
• Ability to supervise volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook balanced meals for lunch club and events, with monthly updates to Admin Team Leader.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and compliance with Food Hygiene, HACCP, and Health & Safety regulations.
• Conduct hub checks and cleaning to meet health and safety standards.
• Coordinate deep cleaning, pest control, and equipment servicing.
• Monitor and minimise food waste through portion planning and cost control.
• Support catering, logistics, and room setups for visiting groups and internal functions.
• Oversee intake and safe storage of donations; support Community Shop and Café operations.
