Job summary

Orbit Group is opening a Hastings Community Hub and seeks a Community Hub Officer to engage customers, partners and local communities while increasing access to Better Days support services.

The role requires a driving licence and access to your own vehicle; you will work full-time on-site at the Hastings hub and travel to events as needed, engaging with diverse audiences across Orbit geography.

Qualifications

• Experience working with local communities in a hub or community-focused programme.
• Ability to deliver information, advice and guidance in a community setting.
• Comfort handling challenging conversations professionally and confidently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a programme of community engagement, activities and events within Orbit’s Community Hubs.
• Support day-to-day operation of Community Hubs, ensuring they are welcoming, accessible, safe and well-used.
• Provide regular face-to-face presence at hubs and build trusted relationships with customers and local partners.
• Provide information, advice and guidance and refer to Better Days and external services as needed.
• Support stakeholder mapping and knowledge of local services and partnerships.
• Assist Place Investment and Partnership Lead to deliver place-based activity with colleagues and partners.
• Collaborate with communications to promote hubs and local engagement opportunities.
