Job summary

Orbit Group are recruiting a Community Hub Officer for the new Hastings Community Hub. You will engage customers, partners and local communities, expanding access to Better Days support and shaping local investment through customer insights.

The role is on-site in Hastings, with occasional visits for local events. A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required; flexibility for evenings/weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with local communities in a community setting or hub.
• Experience delivering information, advice and guidance in a community-based environment.
• Ability to handle challenging conversations professionally and confidently.
• Experience of partnership working and building relationships with local services.
• Experience of collecting monitoring information and customer feedback.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a programme of community engagement, activities and events within Orbit’s Community Hubs.
• Support day-to-day operation of Community Hubs, ensuring they are welcoming, accessible, safe and well-used by customers and partners.
• Provide a regular face-to-face presence at hubs, building trusted relationships with customers, partners and local communities.
• Provide information, advice and guidance to Orbit customers, identifying needs and making appropriate referrals into Better Days and external support services.
• Support stakeholder mapping and build knowledge of local services, referral routes and partnership opportunities.
• Support the Place Investment and Partnership Lead and Community Hub Manager to deliver place-based activity, working with colleagues, customers and partners to respond to identified local priorities.
• Work with communications colleagues to promote Community Hubs, local activities and engagement opportunities within local communities.
