Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a Housing Officer to join our team in Hastings. You’ll help residents sustain tenancies, deliver practical housing advice, and support safe, well-maintained communities across our neighbourhoods.

You will manage a varied caseload, conduct property viewings, support tenancy enforcement, and work with Income Team to maximise rent collection. The role is full-time (35 hours) with hybrid working: three days in the office and travel across our communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing environment and tenancy enforcement.
• Ability to follow processes and deliver good customer service.
• Strong communication skills across channels.
• Professional approach to safeguarding and resident wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property viewings and minimise void turnaround times.
• Manage tenancy enforcement including notices and court hearings where required.
• Carry out neighbourhood inspections and lead local initiatives to improve estate standards.
• Support income recovery by maximizing rent and service charge collection.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and risk assessments.
