Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is recruiting an experienced Housing Officer to cover Greenham, Basingstoke and surrounding areas. You will manage a varied caseload, visiting customers and partner agencies, and balancing office and field work to deliver positive housing outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of tenancy management, excellent communication and the ability to handle complex situations. Hybrid working and a supportive housing team are offered to help sustain communities.

Qualifications

• Experience or strong knowledge of housing, tenancy or neighbourhood management.
• Experience managing a busy caseload through to resolution.
• Confident dealing with complex, sensitive or challenging situations.
• Strong knowledge of tenancy management and housing-related issues.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Customer-focused approach and commitment to positive outcomes.
• Ability to work with colleagues and external partner agencies.
• Good IT skills, including housing management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering tenancy and neighbourhood management.
• Deal with tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, tenancy fraud and tenancy changes.
• Investigate issues, gather evidence and take appropriate action.
• Progress legal or formal enforcement action where required.
• Build positive relationships with customers and support tenancy sustainment.
• Work collaboratively with local authorities, community groups and partner agencies.
• Visit customers, neighbourhoods and properties across Greenham, Basingstoke and surrounding areas.
• Maintain accurate customer records and case information.
• Identify opportunities to improve neighbourhoods and customer outcomes.
• Manage your own diary and prioritise a busy workload effectively.
