Job Title: Community Housing Assistant - (25803)

Description:

We are looking for a Community Housing Assistant to join our team. This role offers hybrid working, combining home, office, and community-based work. It is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with flexible working arrangements. The salary is approximately £24,638, depending on experience, plus benefits including a Health Cash Plan.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Community Housing Administrator to become part of our dedicated housing team in the South Region. You will be the face of our organization, providing face-to-face support to our communities. If you enjoy variety, engaging with customers, and developing a career in housing, this role is ideal for you.

Typical Duties:

  • Engaging with customers to understand their needs and support community development.
  • Assisting housing managers in managing their areas to improve local neighborhoods.
  • Managing processes related to empty properties, liaising with authorities, conducting estate inspections, and coordinating with contractors.
  • Performing routine safety and compliance checks in buildings and communities.
  • Updating records, managing orders, and arranging payments for works.

Candidate Qualities:

  • A proactive, positive attitude and good organizational skills.
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and helping others.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Understanding of housing management, law, and universal credit is desirable but not essential.
  • Competence in using technology to update customer records.
  • Ability to work independently in community estates, with access to a vehicle for business use (mileage paid).

Team and Work Environment:

You will be part of Sonia's team, passionate about community support. The team is newly formed and dedicated to helping customers sustain their tenancies. We value support and regular meet-ups at our London office.

Job Details:

  • This role is hybrid, involving office, community, and remote work.
  • Flexible working hours can be discussed during the interview.
  • Work primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings for customer meetings.
  • Must have a vehicle insured for business purposes; mileage paid.
  • A Standard DBS check is required, paid for by us.
