Citizens Advice Telford and The Wrekin is recruiting a Generalist Adviser (Financial Resilience) to help local residents improve financial resilience, maximise income, manage budgets and access the right advice at the right time.

The role involves meeting clients in various settings across Telford and The Wrekin, providing high-quality guidance, benefits checks and budgeting support, and connecting people to local schemes. Full training and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and IT skills.
• Sensitive listening and questioning skills.
• Positive, non-judgemental approach.
• Ability to explain information clearly and help clients understand options.
• Keep accurate case records and work well in a team.
• Experience with benefits checks, income maximisation, budgeting support or debt advice is helpful; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality advice and support including benefits checks, income maximisation, budgeting support, expenditure reduction and access to local schemes.
• Meet clients in a range of settings across the borough and work with colleagues and community partners.
• Help residents access timely support before problems escalate.
