Job summary

St Luke's CE Primary School invites applications for a Family Support and Community Engagement Lead. You will strengthen home–school partnerships to help children flourish, welcome families into school, and provide targeted support to those who need it most.

You will work with staff and external agencies to promote attendance, remove barriers to learning, and coordinate early help. The role is community‑facing and requires warmth, organisation and discretion in safeguarding and welfare matters.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering pastoral support to children and families.
• Ability to build positive relationships with parents, carers and staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organisation and initiative to manage multiple duties.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Understanding of attendance improvement and school engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support and guidance to children and families.
• Develop positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Support and promote excellent school attendance.
• Collaborate with staff to remove barriers to learning.
• Liaise with external agencies to secure family support.
• Coordinate early help and family engagement interventions.
• Lead and support transition arrangements for new pupils and families.
• Organise family outreach activities outside normal hours.
• Promote family engagement in school life.
• Support safeguarding and child welfare policies.
