Job summary

City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking an Engagement Adviser for SkillsHouse to support residents on employment, training and career progression. You will be the welcoming face, engaging with people through telephone, email, and community outreach, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.

You will track vulnerable groups and NEET young people, build relationships across the district, and work with partners to ensure accessible, high-quality services for all residents.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for helping people achieve their goals.
• Empathy, professionalism and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work flexibly including evenings and alternate Saturdays.
• Holds a full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for Bradford residents seeking careers, skills, training and employment support.
• Manage referrals and enquiries, connecting individuals to the right support service.
• Build trusted relationships with residents and stakeholders across the district.
• Deliver outreach activities to raise awareness of SkillsHouse services.
• Provide a welcoming, professional and person-centred experience for all users.
• Work with SkillsHouse partners to support positive outcomes for residents.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion by making services accessible to all.
• Maintain accurate records and support service improvements.
