Band 7 Community Coordinator
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead the Community teams. The purpose of this role is to lead, support and coordinate the day to day running of the service, and to play a key role in the development of these services.
As a Midwifery Practice Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality, woman centred care in midwifery services, through the provision of clinical expertise, professional direction and leadership.
The post holder will ensure that the care provided by the community midwifery team is in keeping with the Philosophy of Care advocated within the Women's Health Directorate of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust.

Work in accordance with the NMC’s rules and code of conduct for midwives.
Maintain and develop professional knowledge and competence in accordance within the NMC recommendations.
Implement recommendations from Government and professional bodies in relation to maternity care.
Act as a role model for midwifery practice to all staff within the directorate.
Act as a Specialist advisor on issues relating to midwifery care to the members of the Practice
To identify areas for improvement and to take a lead role in designing, implementing and supporting new and existing initiatives e.g. continuity of care;
Lead, co-ordinate and manage clinical activities in relation to provision of midwifery care model in order to improve/maintain care in the hospital and/or primary care setting.
Arrange and develop orientation programmes, which familiarise new members of staff with the organisational and clinical demands of the unit and Midwifery practice.
Act on, participate in the investigation of complaints, incidents and accidents and report to your Midwifery Matron as appropriate.
Ensure that working conditions are safe in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Deputise for the Community Midwifery & Antenatal clinic Matron as required.
To be fully informed of the risk management strategy, be responsible for reporting incidents, risk assessment and development of action plans to reduce risk and complaints.
